(BCN) -- A fire broke out in a townhouse in Santa Rosa on Sunday morning, causing about $150,000 in damage, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
Nobody was home at the time, and no firefighters were injured in the residential structure fire, which was reported by a neighbor just before 7 a.m.
The fire was burning the exterior of the residence and spread to the attic, according to a statement from officials. Firefighters reached the flames in the attic by pulling sheetrock from the ceiling after entering the house.

The flames were controlled in about 20 minutes and holes were cut in the roof to allow "superheated gases" and smoke to escape, the fire department's statement said.
Santa Rosa FD said there were no functioning smoke detectors found in the residence. The cause of the fire remained under investigation as of Sunday.
